Moshe Waldoks, raconteur, rabbi, schol-
ar and storyteller, will be the guest speak-
er at the Temple's Lindenbaum Lecture.
Dr. Waldoks is the co-editor, with
William Novak, of The Big Book of Jewish
Humor, The Big Book of New American
Humor and the brand-new The Best
American Humor, 1994.
Moshe Waldoks holds a doctorate in
Eastern European Jewish Intellectual
History from Brandeis University. He is
an associate of the Cohen Center for Mod-
em Jewish Studies at Brandeis Univer-
sity. He has also taught at the Pardes
Institute in Jerusalem and was the di-
rector of the Hillel Foundation at Tufts
University.

Guest Rabbi Speaks

Rabbi Bradley Bleefeld, spiritual leader of Temple Israel, Columbus, Ohio,
will be the guest speaker for Shabbat Va-Yishlach, Nov. 18-19 at Temple
Emanu-El.
Rabbi Bleefeld has served Temple Israel as senior rabbi since 1987. He
went on to become associate rabbi of Baltimore Hebrew Congregation and
rabbi of Temple Anshe Hesed of Erie, Pa., before returning to Columbus.
He has been active on many local, state and national boards and com-
mittees. He also has been rabbi in residence at the Chatauqua Institute,
adjunct professor of religion at Capital University in Columbus, adjunct associate professor of reli-
gious studies at Allegheny College, Meadville, Pa., and associate professor of history at the Univer-
sity of Baltimore.

Machon L'Torah will host its 7th annual Chanukah concert. The "Evening of Jewish
Music" will feature Yerachmiel Begun and the Miami Boys Choir. They will be ac-
companied by the internationally acclaimed choir "Variations" — with Gershon Vero-
ba and Harold Fruchter, stars in Jewish music of this generation.
