ROSE WOLFE, 90, of Long-
meadow, Mass., died Nov. 7. Mrs.
Wolfe was active in Pioneer
Women, Na'amat and the
Horodoker Society. She was the
bloved wife of the late William
Wolfe. She is survived by her son
and daughter-in-law, Dr. Stan-
ley and Paula Wolfe of Bloomfield
Hills; daughter and son-in-law,
Sylvia and Dr. George Falk of
Longmeadow, Mass.; grandchi-
uldren, Amy and Adam Wolfe,
Laurie and Benjamin Falk; two
great-grandchildren; sister, Mary
Ginsburg; sister-in-law, Esther
Ginsburg. Interment at Hebrew

DR. MIKALYA ZARKIIINA,
71, of Oak Park, died Nov. 13.

She is survived by a son and

Dov Minc

New York (JTA) — Dov Minc, the
86-year-old blind man who led
the Jewish community of Lodz,
Poland, for several years, died
Oct. 27.
Mr. Minc was known for his
devoted service to the Jewish
community in Lodz, Poland's sec-
ond-largest city.
Although Mr. Minc had be-
come totally blind in his later
years, he was able to supervise
various religious and cultural ac-
tivities of the Jewish comrnuni-
tY.
Lodz's only remaining syna-
gogue burned down in 1985 un-
der unknown circumstances. Mr.
Minc obtained funds from the
Lauder Foundation to rebuild the
shul. 0

Belgian Politician
Desecrated Graves

Brussels (JTA) — The Belgian
Jewish community has decided
to initiate legal action against an
extreme right-wing politician who
resigned his office within days of
winning a municipal election.
Daniel Leskens resigned last
week following the broadcast of
a videotape showing him urinat-
ing on Jewish graves during a
neo-Nazi gathering in Germany
in February.
Mr. Leskens, a member of the
far-right Belgian National Front,
was elected Oct. 9 to serve on the
city council of Anderlecht, a work-
ing class suburb of Brussels.
The incident follows last
week's municipal elections, which
were marked by large gains for
far-right parties in the Flemish
and French-speaking parts of
Belgium.
Expressing concern over both
the results of the Oct. 9 election
and the Leskens affairs, Jewish
communal leader David
Susskind said, "This time we
must quickly react, because the
situation is beginning to look like
the situation before World War
II."
According to the report on Bel-
gian public television, Mr.

Leskens had participated at a
gathering of former SS officers
and Belgian neo-Nazis. Follow-
ing a meal at which he told neo-
Nazi jokes, he went to relieve
himself on a grave at a nearby
cemetery. The headstone of the
grave bore a Hebrew inscription.
Mr. Leskens was expelled from
his party as a result of the inci-
dent.

of Belgian Jewish Organizations,
said in a statement that it had

decided to lodge a complaint
against Mr. Leskens for racism
and for inciting racial hatred.
"The National Front's electoral
program made us fear the worst.
Today, the bounds have been
overstepped," the group's state-
ment said.
"Daring to soil Jewish graves
is an unspeakable act," the group
said. "We will no longer tolerate
this."
