he 1994 Charity Shirt Auc-
tion at the Shirt Box in
Southfield raised $4,620 for
43 local charities, including
JARC, the Evan Shapiro BBYO
Fund and the Michigan Jewish
AIDS Coalition.
Michigan artists painted and
decorated the shirts and vests.
"This was a true labor of love and
a lot of fun," said Ron Elkus,
owner of the Shirt Box. Some of
the artists included: Sandi
Duchinsky, Gila Gelfond,
Ricky Berlin, Ilona, Gail
Mintz and Deborah Fried-
man

charities. Gently worn cloth-
ing may be dropped off at
Chico's through Nov. 30.
Chico's Will also give a 10 per-
cent discount to all contrib-
utors on the day they donate

ly celebrated their 25th anniver-
sary with a "Riviera Night." One
lucky winner was chosen to have
the use of a 1995 Buick Riviera
for one year. Southfield Mayor
Donald Fracassi made a spe-
cial presentation to Marvin
Tamaroff, president of Tamaroff
Buick, and Seymour Brode,
president of Franklin Fitness and Ann Goodman, Laurie Winston
Racquet Club. Part of the cere-
mony included Mr. Brode cutting More than 200 patrons recently
the ribbon to Franklin's new attended a fashion show lun-
