who were looking for new oppor-
tunities in Israel."
At the same time, they were
clearly enjoying their first visit to
Israel. 'They seemed very relaxed
and at ease," said Mr. Verses.
"You didn't get the impression of
any tension, even though it was
the first time in their lives that
they had been to Israel."
Although it's an important
first, Mr. Verses is confident that
it's the start of something that
will soon be typical, not unusual.
"Now that we've had Jor-
danian businessmen staying at
the Tel Aviv hotels," he predicted.
"This is the concrete proof that
relations between Israel and
Jordan are beginning to be
