WERE FIGHTING FOR YOUR LIFE

EMMEN 11111

MJAC first brought a portion
of the AIDS quilt to the Jewish
community in 1991. Three years
ago, MJAC was a grass-roots or-
ganization that recognized that
the community was not re-
sponding to the AIDS crisis.
When an AIDS-infected adult
child of Holocaust survivors was
denied admittance to a Jewish
care facility, an ad hoc group cre-
ated MJAC. Since then the or-
ganization has grown, the board
of directors now numbers 30,
and it shares space with Jewish
Experiences For Families at
AJE.
MJAC's primary focus is to
provide education on prevention,
understanding and compassion.
Although it is not strictly a
referral organization, MJAC

ners will be selected in four cate-
gories: age 6 and under, age 7-9,

egory will be awarded $25. The

Jerry Kaufman, Super Sunday co-chairperson, reprimanded
agency board members, not staff, for their lack of participation
in the Oct. 23 phonathon for the Allied Jewish Campaign.

Responses from Edward Haroutunian, a candidate for the
Wayne State University Board of Governors, was inadvertent-
ly left out of political coverage in the Nov. 4 issue.
