A seminar of importance to the
survival of the Jewish people will
be presented under the auspices
of the United Synagogue of Con-
servative Judaism, Michigan Re-
gion, Nov. 20, from 10:30 a.m. -
1:30 p.m. at Congregation Beth
Abraham Hillel Moses. The pro-
gram, "Marrying In/Marrying
Out: Keeping the Jewish Faith,"
is designed to help community
leaders and parents to focus on
pertinent issues related to mar-
rying within the faith.
The seminar will begin with
the keynote address, "Combating
Intermarriage: Confronting the
Challenges," by Rabbi Jerome Ep-
stein, vice-president and CEO of
the United Synagogue. His talk will
be followed by four concurrent
workshop-discussion sessions, each
to be given twice so people can par-
ticipate in two of the four. The
workshop titles and leaders agree
as follows:
"But Mom...It's Only A Date!"

Anita Norich, associate professor
of English and Judaic Studies at
the University of Michigan, will
give a series of lectures Nov 15.
At 3 p.m., this author, teacher
and lecturer will speak at Wayne
State University on 'The Amer-
ican Jewish Community's Re-
sponse to World War II as
Reflected In It's culture". At 7:30
p.m. Ms. Norich will speak at the
Maple/Drake Jewish Communi-
ty Center on "The State of Yid-
dish Culture Today."
