Benjamin Friedman
The Huntington Woods Syna-
gogue (Minyan) will hold a din-
ner Nov. 29 in honor of Judge
Benjamin Friedman of the 45B
district court. The event, to be
held at the Maple/Drake Jewish
Community Center, will begin
with hors d'oeuvres at 6 p.m. Din-
ner is at 7 p.m.
Born in Detroit, Judge Fried-
man attended Detroit Central
High School, after which he
served in the Air Force from 1951

State Law School, from which he
holds a juris doctorate. He be-
came a municipal judge in Oak
Park in 1975 was appointed dis-
trict court judge.
Judge Friedman is past pres-
ident of the Oakland District
Judges Association, past chair-
man of the legislative committee
for the Michigan District Judges
Association, vice president of
Congregation Beth Achim and
vice president of the Zionist Or-
ganization of America. In 1976,
Judge Friedman received the
WSU law school Distinguished
Service Award.
The dinner will feature guest
speaker L. Brooks Patterson,
Oakland County executive. Pro-
ceeds from the event will benefit
the Huntington Woods Syna-
gogue.
