Should economic growth match expectations, the economy will have expanded at nearly twice the rate of last year, when the GDP increased only 3.4 percent. According to Treasury eco- nomic adviser Tsipi Gal-Yam, the rapid economic expansion has been characterized by a sharp de- cline in unemployment, which is expected to hover between 7.5 and 8 percvt compared with 10 percent last year, and by signifi- cant iitcmases in investment and consumption.
