Teen Connection
Annual Convention

BBYO/JCC Teen Connection will
go to its annual Midwest Con-
vention in Mukwanago, Wis.,
Dec. 2-4. The program, which fea-
tures social, recreational, and Ju-
daic programs, is open to Teen
Connection members only. There
is a cost for the weekend. Regis-
tration deadline is Nov. 14.

Youth Awards
Are Offered

The League of Jewish Women's
Organizations has applications
available for its 50th annual
youth awards for high school stu-
dents. The awards ceremony will
be held March 26, at Temple
Beth El.
To qualify for the annual youth
award of $500, the applicant
must be a high school senior, with
at least a 3.0 grade point average,
have a formal Jewish education,
be actively involved in the com-
munity, and submit a one-page
typed essay on "The Challenge of
Being Jewish - My Personal
View." Once qualified, an appli-
cant will be interviewed by a pan-
el of judges.
The application and essay
must be received no later than
Jan. 4. For information, call Sher-

Publicity
Deadlines

The normal deadline for local
news and publicity items is
noon Thursday, eight days pri-
or to issue date. The deadline
for birth announcements is 10
a.m. Monday, four days prior
to issue date; out-of-town obit-
uaries, 10 a.m. Tuesday, three
days prior to issue date.
