Archival
Preservation
Archival preservation for fami-
lies and organizations will be dis-
cussed by Sharon Alterman,
director of the Jewish Federa-
tion's Jewish Community
Archives, at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 16 in
the Max M. Fisher Building.
Methods of organization,
records management, mainte-
nance of photographs and records
will be some of the topics explored
at the event.
The Jewish Community
Archives collection is housed in
the Reuther Library on the cam-
pus of Wayne State University
and in the Max M. Fisher Build-
ing. The extensive collection in-
cludes manuscripts.detailing the
founding of the Detroit Jewish
community, its agencies, and na-
tional and international events.
The Archives are available to re-
searchers by appointment.
The Nov. 16 program is co-
sponsored by the Jewish Com-
munity Council, Jewish
Historical Society of Michigan
and the Reuther Library of La-
bor and Urban Affairs of Wayne
State University.
