Workshop Set

The annual fall Genealogy Work-
shop of the Jewish Genealogical So-
ciety of Michigan will take place
1:45-4:15 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Farm-
ington Hills Public Library, 32737
W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills.
Cider and doughnuts will be
served.
Participants will be able to
choose to hear two of four speakers
for the afternoon. Linda Bell will
talk on sources for beginners; Mar-
ilyn Natches, on computers; Jim
Grey, on Salt Lake City (Mormon)
records; Pam Gordon on U.S. cen-
sus records.
Admission is free for members.

B'nai B'rith Accountants Unit
will hold its annual all-day sem-
inar 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Nov. 1, at
Adat Shalom Synagogue in
Farmington Hills. Registration
and continental breakfast are at
8 a.m.
The program will qualify for
eight hours of Accounting and
Auditing C.P.E. and lunch will
be served.

AZM Honors
Six Women

Regina Feuer, Americans for a
Progressive Israel; Anne Helf-
man, Adat Shalom Synagogue;
Shirley Kraft, Jewish National
Fund; Billie Kramer, Zionist Or-
ganization of American; Esther
LaMed, Na'amat USA; and
Emma Schaver, Labor Zionist Al-
liance will be honored a the third
annual Zionist of the Year event,
sponsored by the American Zion-
ist Movement, Michigan Region
at a luncheon Nov. 20 at Adat
Shalom Synagogue.
The Vatikot, the women vet-
erans of the Zionist movement,
were selected from among the
nominations by member organi-
zations of the AZM. Each of the
honorees will be recognized
through the luncheon program
titled "Remembering the Dream,
Dor L'Dor" (from generation to
generation). Graduates of the
Otzma program, a year-long pro-
gram in Israel sponsored by the
Jewish Federation of Metropoli-
tan Detroit for college students,
will highlight the contributions
of each of the honorees.
