End Judicial Abuse

ment. Ms. Magness' responsi-
bilities include handling weekly
media schedules and Style mag-
azine accounts.
Before coming to The Jewish
News, Ms. Magness was in the
management training program
with the Gap. She is a graduate
of Western Michigan Universi-
ty.
"Robin will help us to better
serve our customers' needs," as-
sociate publisher Arthur Hor-
witz said. "She brings with her
a background of attention to cus-
tomer service that our advertis-
ers have come to expect from us."
Mr. Samson, a Bloomfield
Hills resident, is a recent grad-
uate of Michigan State Univer-
sity. He holds the position of
sales coordinator. He is respon-
sible for assisting the advertis-
ing staff.
'We were very impressed with
Danny's commitment to the Jew-
ish community — he just re-
turned from spending a year of
doing volunteer work in Israel.
He will fit in well with our com-
munity-minded organization,"
Mr. Horwitz added.

Judge Susan Moiseev is so feared for her temper
tantrums, that her Court Officer "sheepishly" warns
citizens they Will be publicly humiliated by Judge Moiseev
if she catches them chewing gum or draping their coats
over the court seats.

Her rage knows no bounds. She has caused
unnecessary embarrassment to jurors, lawyers, and
citizens such as yourself, who have appeared before her.
She's scolded a pregnant litigant who asked for water; told
an elderly woman of Arabic descent "After being in this
country 20 years, you should speak better English"; and
told one defendant she would put him in diapers.
She does not have the temperament to be Judge of
the 46th District Court.

Stephen Korn, on the other hand, has 15 years of
experience and the judicial temperament to be a good
judge. In fact, he alone has the backing and endorsements
of the Honorable Clarence A. Reid, Jr. and the Honorable
James Clarkson, both of whom served as Judge of the
46th District Court for a combined 40 years.

On November 8, Election Day,
you have a choice!
Do you want a "Hot Head" or someone who
has the right judicial temperament?

n an effort to better inform
students of funding available
for Israel summer programs,
the Michigan/Israel Connec-
tion has compiled a comprehen-
sive list of organizations offering
student scholarships.
"We want to serve as a central
location for any student looking
for information about Israel
scholarships," said Jeff Kaye, the
community shaliach.
Mr. Kaye's office offers a
brochure of more than 20 schol-
arship funds and provides the
students with the applications.
"Each scholarship fund is still
independent," Mr. Kaye said.
"The only difference is in the way
students get information — from
one central location. The under-
lying principle here is if students
want to go to Israel, we don't
want them to stay home for fi-
nancial reasons."
The brochure includes schol-
arships offered by Adat Shalom
Synagogue, Agency for Jewish
Education, Congregations Beth
Abraham Hillel Moses, Beth
Achim, Beth Shalom, Shaarey
Zedek and B'nai Moshe, B'nai
B'rith Youth Organization, Tem-
ple Emanu-El, Friends of He-
brew University, Jewish
Community Center, Michigan/Is-
rael Connection, Temple Israel
and the Zionist Organization of
America - Detroit District. ❑
