Rebecca Jo Safran and Thomas
Bergemann were married re-
cently at Weller's Carriage
House, Saline. Rabbi Robert Levy
of Congregation Beth Emeth,
Ann Arbor, officiated. The bride's
cousin, Dr. Fred Bookstein, sang
the cantorial prayers.
The bride is the daughter of
Dr. and Mrs. Frank Safran of
Westport, Conn., formerly of
Southfield. The groom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Berge-
mann of Birmingham.
Mrs. Sara Stevenson was maid
of honor. Bridesmaids were Elysa
Safran, Dayna Safran, Shannon
Rhoades, Janie Chodosh and

Lisa Hunter. Jennifer Mich-
niewicz, Marta Michniewicz and
Gabrielle Snobel were junior
bridesmaids. The best man was
Steve Piejak. Ushers were Tim
Bergemann, Matt Bergemann,
Jon Safran, Mark Whitelaw and
Rick Spencer. Sarazina Stein was
the flower girl, and Ben Stark
was the ring bearer.
Becca and Tom attended the
School of Natural Resources at
University of Michigan. They will
reside in Arcata, Calif., where
Becca will be a graduate fellow
in ornithology at Humboldt Col-
lege, part of California State Uni-
versity; and Tom will be teaching.

Marc is the son of Jean-Claude
and Iva Leblanc of Winnipeg,
Manitoba. The ceremony was
performed by Professor Kotch,
who is a Certified Leader of the

Leadership Conference of Secu-
lar and Humanistic Jews.
Bridesmaids were Julie Aaron,
Carolyn Cohn, Dawn Kingsbury,
Andi Smith-Anderson and Robin
Weinberg. The best man was
Kevin Rearick. Ushers were Jeff
Caltrider, Steve Demarzo,
William Leblanc, Kevin Offless
and Rick Racine.
The couple reside in Augusta,
Ga.
