The Jewish Theological Seminary of America wishes to thank MR. WILLIAM M. DAVIDSON for his exceptionally generous and unprecedented gift of $15 million to fund the creation of the WILLIAM DAVIDSON GRADUATE SCHOOL OF JEWISH EDUCATION at the Jewish Theological Seminary The Graduate School of Jewish Education will be the largest and most comprehensive of its kind, offering a fully accredited doctorate of education in religious studies, in addition to Ph.D: and M.A. programs. The School is dedicated to creating a new class of professional Jewish educators, supporting local Jewish education efforts through the development of new teaching curricula and materials, and conducting the most extensive academic research yet undertaken in the field of Jewish education. Mr. Davidson's gift underscores the urgent need for enriched Jewish education in North America and recognizes that there can be no shortcuts to securing Jewish continuity. Specifically, his gift will form an endowment devoted entirely to supporting programming by retaining current and adding additional, top- flight faculty, providing scholarships and fellowships to the most outstanding students, and funding research into improved methods of Jewish education. ■ "7.nr< AND THE BUSH r110 11 WAS NOT 13.21M CONSUMED The Seminary, on behalf of the entire Jewish community, wishes to extend its sincere thanks to Mr. Davidson for no less a feat than making possible the revitalization of Jewish education in North America.
