Daniel's Restaurant will host an
exclusive Sunday evening con-
cert series featuring world
renowned flutist Alexander Zon-
jic. For six weeks, starting Oct.
23, Mr. Zonjic and special guests
will perform musical concerts set
to different themes. Daniel's
Restaurant Chef Daniel Kozak
will prepare a special meal for
each week's performance, based
on the theme of the music. The
series is sponsored by WQRS-
FM.
The first evening Oct. 23, will
be a "Musical Tour of Italy."
Alexander Zonjic is joined by
DSO flutist Ervin Monroe and pi-
anist Fontaine Laing for an
evening of Cimarosa, Vivaldi and
Briccialdi.
Nov. 6 will be "An Evening in
Vienna." Mr. Zonjic is featured
with harpist Jane Rosenson for
an evening of Mozart and other
classic and contemporary inter-
ludes.
Nov. 13. will be "Jazz and Cre-
ole Combo." Very special guests
from New York are vocalist
Sheila Jordan and Bassist Harvie
Swartz.
Nov. 20 will be "November in
Paris." Mr. Zonjic is joined by pi-
anist Margaret Kapasi to feature
the works of composer Claude
Bolling, as well as works of oth-
er French classical and contem-
porary composers.
"Real Jazz" is the theme for
Nov. 27. Mr. Zonjic teams with
Ervin Monroe. Phil Dykeman
and Jeff Zook of the DSO, and
Barbara Ogar for a fabulous fes-
tival of flutes.
Finally, Dec. 4 will be an
"American Bistro Evening." Vo-
calists Julia Boxholm and Dean-
na Relyea and pianist Jerry
DePuit join forces for an evening
of music from Cole Porter,
Stephen Sondheim and others.
Daniel's is located at 209 W.
Sixth Street in Royal Oak. Din-
ner is served at 6:30 p.m., and the
concert begins at 8 p.m. Advance

Concert Band
Plans Tribute
The Birmingham Concert Band
will open its '94-'95 season pre-
senting "Let the Spirit Soar," a
program dedicated to the memo-
ry of Dr. William D. Revelli,
renowned conductor emeritus of
bands at the University of Michi-
gun.
The program, 3 p.m. Oct. 23 in
Groves High School, will feature
Professor John L. Whitwell,
Michigan State University di-
rector of bands.
