Lecture Set
A lecture for mental health pro-
fessionals, titled "The Jewish
Roots of Psychotherapy," will be
presented by Jesse Gordon Oct.
30 at 10 a.m., at the Washtenaw
County Jewish Community Cen-
ter.
The meeting is sponsored by
the Jewish Family Services and
its mental health providers net-
work.
Dr. Gordon is a professor emer-
itus of psychology with the Uni-
versity of Michigan School of
Social Work and a past president
of the Jewish Community Cen-
ter.

"Adoption Options," a program
designed to help Jewish families
in Washtenaw County with the
adoption process, will be pre-
sented by Jewish Family Services
on Oct. 23 from 9:30 a.m. to noon
at the Washtenaw County Jew-
ish Community Center.
To be discussed are adoption
locally, international adoptions,
the upcoming changes in Michi-
gan's adoption laws, and the Jew-
ish perspective on adoptions. In
addition, families who have re-
cently gone through the adoption
process, both with local and in-
ternational agencies, will describe
their experiences.
"Adoption Options" is being
presented fee of charge.

Young adults will gather at 8
p.m., Oct. 25 at the Old Wood-
ward Grill in Birmingham for the
monthly Young Adult Division
Bar Night.
The popular community out-
reach program brings together
young adults between the ages of
21-35 in a relaxed and hospitable
atmosphere.
A raffle for prizes is planned
for the event. Health club passes
at the Jewish Community Cen-
ter, free subscriptions to the De-
troit Jewish News and
entertainment gifts from Robert
Soloman and Associates are some
of the gifts that have been raffled
in the past.
