UNIVERSAL WATCH REPAIR
for further economic and politi-
cal security in the region.
"As we look ahead with regard
to foreign affairs, the Cold War
is over but the world remains a
dangerous place," Mr. Abraham
said. "The danger is no longer
presented by a strong Soviet
Union but by others who are less
predictable."
Mr. Abraham, who was ap-
pointed by Dan Quayle as his for-
mer deputy chief of staff at the
White House, also talked about
the night he was in the White
House when Operation Desert
Storm was launched.
At that point, he said three
things became clear to him: 'The
special relationship between the
United States and Israel, the ab-
horrence of those who use ter-
rorism or acts of war and more
of my own desire to see true and
lasting peace in that region."

Other issues like health care
and the impact of the radical
right were also brought out dur-
ing the forum.
Mr. Carr maintains health in-
surance should not be lost be-
cause an individual changes jobs.
He also advocates the need for
tort reform.
"The fact that we did not pass
health care will probably be a
good thing," Rep. Carr said. 'We
need to continue to improve
health care delivery but we
should have a better chance next
year when we're not under the
gun of an election."
Mr. Abraham feels health care
in America needs to be fixed but
the federal government should
not control the system.
• A question about the influence
of the radical right in politics was
also asked of both candidates.
While Rep. Carr said it is a big-
ger problem for the Republican
party, Mr. Abraham said his par-
ty is strong and diverse enough
to achieve a proper balance. L
