treating them like you want them
to treat you will bring the peace and
joy we all hope for," he says. "Let's

Getting Closer To
`Six Days In Oct.'

"7451a&A,

PHIL JACOBS EDITOR

S

ix Days In October," a pro-
ject that will capture the
lives and souls, of Jewish
Detroit, is about a week
away.
Co-sponsored by The Jewish
News and Perry Drug Stores, "Six
Days In October" will result in
a keepsake issue of 40 or 50 pho-
tographs selected by a team of
judges. Photos used in the edition
will then be displayed at the Jan-
ice Charach Epstein Museum
Gallery at the Maple-Drake Jew-
ish Community Center.
We've already received sever-
al questions regarding the pho-
tographic event. Two of the most
asked questions are these:
"Can I turn in a photo that was
taken prior to the project's Oct.
23 start?" We're asking that
everyone, in fairness to one and
all, adhere to the Oct. 23 to Oct.
28 "window."
Another question asked in-
volves the returning of negatives
to photographers. We are asking
for two photographs accompanied
by the negatives. Neither will be
returned.
Here's everything participants
need to know:
* From sunrise Sunday, Oct. 23,
to sundown Friday, Oct. 28, pho-
tograph whatever it is in your dai-
ly life that has Jewish importance.
* Pick your two best color print
photographs. Clearly mark on the
back of each one your name,
phone numbers, address and the
subject of your photo. Send the two
prints with their negatives to "Six
Days In October," do Detroit Jew-
ish News, 27676 Franklin Road,
Southfield, MI 48034.
* All entries must be post-
marked by Nov. 11, 1994 — no
exceptions, and photos and neg-
atives will not be returned.
* Participants must pay for the
processing of their own film, in-
cluding those who will be receiving
the disposable Perry cameras. ❑

Kids like the Snap-T so much,
they're reluctant to give it up
when they outgrow it. Made of
Original (11-oz.) Synchilla pile,
the Snap-T is an everyday
throw-on that can be worn alone
or under a shell as an insulation
layer. Exceedingly warm for its
weight, it's also quick
to dry and breathable.
