Dr. Weiss- man served in the United States Naval Air Corps as a squadron navigational officer. He achieved his medical exper- tise at Rensselaer Polytechni- cal Institute, Notre Dame Uni- versity, Wayne State University, University of Min- nesota and the Mayo Clinic. He was the first doctor to intern at Sinai Hospital of Detroit. In 1966 he was appointed and practiced as Chief of Plastic Surgery until his retirement in 1985. He was active in numer- ous professional associations in- cluding serving as president of the Midwestern Association of Plastic Surgeons. Every inch of his family home which he tend- ed devotedly for 30 years, bore the mark of his care and per- sonality and was full of unique and whimsical touches: hidden forts and tree houses for the grandchildren, tire swings with views droning hills and a Las Vegas-style poker/video game in the barn. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; daughters and sons-in- law, Rebecca Weissman and David Brugman of Southfield, Dr. Patricia Weissman and His interests were diverse and extensive.
