Plans Offerings

"Parenting an Infant When Over
35," for parents who are over age
35 and have an infant or toddler,
will be held Oct. 26 at 8 p.m. at
the Eugene and Marcia Apple-
baum Jewish Parenting Center.
The topic for discussion will be
child development and child man-
agement. This ongoing series will
meet monthly with Sheri Loeb.
"Challah Days . . . Homemade
challah in 10 minutes!" — 11
a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 21.
"Making Family Memories" is
a hands-on class with instruc-
tions to help you maximize the
Jewish tradition of family. Bring
6 to 12 photos of the same subject
and a sharp pair of scissors to
class. Additional materials may
be purchased at class. Join Lynn
Breuer Wednesdays, 7-9 p.m.;
this class begins Nov. 2.
Torah Study and Facts is a
class with commentary, inter-
pretation and discussion teach-
ing new meaning and relevance
in each weekly Torah portion giv-
ing each student new insights
into the Torah. Bring a dairy
lunch; a beverage will be pro-
vided. This class will be led by
Rabbi Irwin Groner, Rabbi
William Gershon and Rabbi
Leonardo Bitran Mondays, 12-1
p.m. at the Parenting Center.
"The Book of Esther-Women
and Assimilation" is a look at the
story of Esther with new insights,
perfectives and questions. Facil-
itator Ruth Bergman leads the
class Mondays, from 7:30-9 p.m.
Nov. 14, Dec. 19, Jan. 9, Feb. 6,
March 13.
"Parenting — The First 100
Days" begins 7:30-9 p.m. Oct. 18.
"Learning Through Play" is an
opportunity to understand and
appreciate the importance of play
in the development of young chil-
dren. Learn about the best toys
and activities to stimulate cu-
riosity and imagination. Join
Marlynn Levin 7:30-9 p.m. Nov.
7.
"Family Keepsake" For Grand-
parents and Grandchildren is an
opportunity for you and your 3-5
grade grandchild to create a fam-
ily quilt square that will become
a part of a permanent display
quilt. Susan Barr will lead the
class Nov. 6 at 4 p.m.
The Applebaum Jewish Par-
enting Center will present "Main-
taining Mensch Making," an
ongoing opportunity for parents
to problem solve together. This
class is for parents who have com-
pleted a Systematic Training for
Effective Parenting class. This
class will meet a once a month on
the 2nd Wednesday morning of
the month from 9:15-10:45 for the
school year. The class begins Nov.
9.
