Several thousand people helped celebrate Israel's 46th anniversary of statehood during festivities that weekend. Israel's elder statesman Abba Eban (left) addressed the December kickoff of the Allied Jewish Campaign, attended by 1,500 Campaign supporters. By the time "Schindler's List" author Thomas Keneally (shown here with Florine Mark Ross) helped conclude the Campaign in May, hundreds of volunteers bad connected with thousands of donors on behalf of Jewish people everywbere. The Quarter Century Club, comprised of 1,800 longtime contributors to the Allied Jewish Campaign, sponsored a trip to Washington in June as part of its active agenda of activities.
