Fun For Kids
Series Planned

Storyteller Jackie Torrence,
singing twins Gemini, Emmy
award winning puppeteer Mar-
shall Izen and masters of the "air
guitar" Cathy and Marcy will per-
form at Oakland University's
Meadow Brook Theatre during
its four-concert "Saturday Fun
for Kids" series, November
through April.
All concerts will be presented
on Saturdays at 11 a.m. Series
tickets are available. For pur-
chase or ticket information, con-
tact the Meadow Brook box office,
(810) 377-3300.
The series will begin on Nov. 5
with storyteller Jackie Torrence.
She leads the audience into a
world inhabited by giants, wily
rabbits and ghosts.
On Dec. 10, twin brothers
Sander and Laszlo Slomovits,
better known as the singing duo
Gemini, will perform.
Feb. 25 will bring puppeteer/
visual artist Marshall Izen to
Meadow Brook. During his show
"Mozart, Monsters and Matisse,"
Izen and assistant Jim West will
feature the tales "Little Blue,"
"Tamino and Dorabella" and
"Why the Willow Weeps." The
stories employ the music of
Mozart with the artistic style of
Henri Matisse.
Concluding the series on April
1 will be the singing duo of Cathy
and Marcy. Known for yodeling,
fancy cowgirl tricks and perfor-
mances on the "air guitar" Cathy
and Marcy have been enchant-
ing children with their music
since 1981.
