MJAC Annual
Meeting

The Michigan Jewish AIDS Coali-
tion (MJAC) will hold its first an-
nual meeting, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 3.
The community is invited.
Set for the Agency for Jewish
Education building, 21550 W. 12
Mile, in Southfield, the meeting
will feature an address by Robert
P. Aronson, executive vice presi-
dent of the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit. Mr. Aron-
son will share his insights on
MJAC's role in the community.
Election and installation of the
1994-95 officers and board of di-
rectors will take place. Nomina-
tions for officers include: Susan
Leemaster, president; Linda Lee,
vice president; Carol Kaczander,
secretary; and Gary Anders, trea-
H surer.
Nominated to the board for a
one-year term are: Peter Cooper,
Jan Laurencelle, Ken Levin,
Janette Shallal, Jerry Sobel, Mar-
ilyn Sobel, Irma Starr, Sue Stet-
tner and Andy Teitel.
Nominated to the board for a
two-year term are: Rabbi Josh
Bennett, Sue Efros, Sue Ellen
Eisenberg, Sherry Feldman,
Margie Fuller, Dr. Nancy Gad-
Harf, Harriet Kantor, David
Moss, Joy Schumacher and Jim
Zack.
Nominated to the board for a
three-year term are: Elissa Drik-
er-Ohren, Ron Elkus, Rabbi E.B.
Freedman, Peggy Frank, Cheryl
Riskin, Reuben Rotman, Diane
Sasson and Rabbi Arnie Sleutel-
berg.
The Michigan Jewish AIDS
Coalition was founded as an or-
ganized response by the Detroit
Jewish community to the grow-
ing AIDS crisis. Through MJAC,
individuals and congregations
can sponsor and participate in
AIDS education programs an
AIDS-related social action pro-
jects.

Extended Hours
For HMC

The Holocaust Memorial Center
has returned to its extended
hours of operation for the school
year. The HMC is now open to
visitors on Fridays from 9 a.m. to
1 p.m. This schedule will be in ef-
fect from September through
May.
Regular year-round hours con-
tinue to be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun-
day through Thursday. The doors
to the museum are locked a half
hour before closing. Admission is
free. The museum is wheel chair
accessible. The Holocaust Memo-
rial Center is located at 6602
West Maple Road in West Bloom-
field.
