In B'nai B'rith Softball

h, brotherhood! Two
teams from Brotherhood
which failed to win regu-
lar-season championships
put it all together when it count-
ed and captured playoff titles in
the B'nai B'rith Softball League.
Brotherhood 2, which went 13-
6-1 and finished third of six
teams in the American League
standings, went 3-0 in the dou-
ble-elimination playoffs. Broth-
erhood 4, the runner-up in the
six-team National League at 13-
7, won three of four games in the
playoffs.
BrOtherhood 3 won the Amer-
ican League regular-season
crown with a 14-4-2 record and
Morganthau was second at 14-
6. Detroit placed fourth behind
Brotherhood 2 and gained the fi-
nal playoff spot with a 13-7
mark.
Bloch-Brotherhood (11-8) and
Brotherhood 6 (9-11) rounded out
the American League standings.
Zager Stone rolled to the Na-
tional League regular-season
championship with a 17-3 record.
' Behind Brotherhood 4 and com-
pleting the playoff field were
Zeiger (10-10) and Pisgah (9-11).
Brotherhood 5 went 7-13 and
Leadership Network 1 finished
4-16.
In its first two American
League playoff games, Brother-
hood 2 beat Morganthau 5-1 and
edged Brotherhood 3 13-12.
Morganthau earned another
shot at Brotherhood 2 in the fi-
nals by defeating Brotherhood 3
10-3. But Brotherhood 2 kept its
playoff record perfect with a 7-

5 victory over Morganthau in
eight innings which won the ti-
tle.
Morganthau ended up with a
2-2 playoff record. Brotherhood
3 was 1-2 and Detroit was 0-2.
Brotherhood 4 slipped past
Zeiger 16-14 in its first National
League playoff game, then it
edged Pisgah 17-14. In the finals,
Zager Stone zapped Brotherhood
4 17-8, but Brotherhood 4 re-
bounded with a 19-13 victory
over Zager Stone.

played for the Detroit
Pistons for four seasons
in the 1980s, has joined
the stafTat Franklin Fitness and
Racquet Club in Southfield.
Russell will be in charge of
Franklin's junior basketball
camps, which will be held in
the club's new gymnasium. He
also will assist in special events
at Franklin involving basketball.

The camps will be open to
members and non-members.
First on the schedule is a six-
week after-school camp slated for
Oct. 31 through Dec. 18. Sessions
are available for players ages 7-
9, 10-12 and 13-15. ❑
