SHORE MORTGAGE of Birm-
ingham, responding to rising in-
terest rates, is offering a "Zero
Down Mortgage Plan." The only
requirement of the plan is it must
be for a mortgage over $50,000.
On a $100,000 house, says
Shore Mortgage loan officer Jeff
Jannett, it means the buyer must
pay only the $4,000 closing costs.

East North Central portion of the

A recent survey of chief finan-
cial officers (CFOs) revealed that
CFOs in the East North Central
region expect a net hiring increase
of 7 percent. National results
show an anticipated 6 percent
jump.
COUNTRYWIDE Funding Cor-
poration, a California-based mort-
gage lender and servicer which
filed suit against a Michigan
mortgage company for infringing
on its trademark, was awarded a
summary judgment.
The Michigan company was
operating under the names Coun-
trywide Financial Corporation
and Countryside Financial Cor-
poration. In the ruling, the de-
fendant was permanently
prevented from using the names
Countrywide or Countryside in
any way.
