OAKLAND cussing Mr. Knollenberg's voting record, which he disagrees with, will help him in November. Both candidates offer different views on health care and crime. Because Congress will not en- act comprehensive health care legislation before the end of the year, members of the next, 104th, Congress will be looked upon to devise a plan. Mr. Breshgold talks about a single-payer system but believes insurance reform should be an immediate priority to control costs. Mr. Knollenberg does not think people want an overhaul of the health care system. He would like to see Congress pass mea- sures like malpractice reform and ensure coverage to those with pre-existing conditions. The congressman's views on crime include more emphasis on victims' rights than the criminal and he said prison sentences should be served out. ❑ Book Sale In Southfield /– Bargains will abound at the Friends of the Southfield Public library's Semi-annual Book Sale in the library's Marcotte Room, Oct. 12-15.
