he ushpizin made their presence felt Sun-
day evening at three Sukkot events in
metropolitan Detroit sponsored by Con-
gregation B'nai Moshe.
The ushpizin, fabled sukkah guests fol-
lowing a 16th-century Kabbalist tradi-
tion, visited sukkahs in Huntington
Woods, Southfield and West Bloomfield,
hosted by Marc Sussman and Lynne
Avadenka, Edward and Barbara Klar-
man, and Mel and Susan Friedman.

The guests included Leah and Rachel,
Moshe Dayan, Golda Meir, Moses, and
Beruriah, a second-century woman who
was a talmudic scholar.
Eighty B'nai Moshe members and
friends were on hand to greet the ush-
pizin, say the blessings over the lulav and
etrog and socialize. ❑

Members of Congregation
B'nai Moshe held open
house at their sukkahs
and welcomed some
interesting guests.
