He co- authored the famous March 1978 "Officer's Letter" that was the chartering document of Peace Now. Mr. Reshef has been the official spokesman for Peace Now since its inception and remains one of its principal organizers. He continues to serve in an intelligence unit of the Israel Defense Forces (Reserves). He is also a member of the Central Policy Commission of the Labor Party. Project Discovery, the Jewish community's semester-in-Israel program (Feb. 6 - June 16), is looking for high school students who wish to study Judaism, He- brew, geography and the history of Israel, in addition to earning credits toward their American high school course work. Project Discovery is adminis- tered by the Michigan/Israel Con- nection. Automatic scholarships are available for all accepted candi- dates. Fees include tuition, room and board, tours, seminars and a comprehensive health/hospital plan. Students must submit their applications by Nov. 4. Shabbat services for the younger set begin at Temple Beth El Oct. 1 when Tot Shabbat and Junior Congregation meet for the first time this season. Tot Shabbat, an ongoing program at the temple, is a monthly Shabbat experience for children ages 2-7. Tot Shab- bat services begin at 9:30 a.m. and are open to members of the community. Future dates include Oct. 29, Dec. 17, Jan. 21, Feb. 11, March 18, April 22 and May 20. The Junior Congregation ser- vice is for children in grades 4- 7. Following the half-hour monthly service at 11 a.m, the ju, nior congregants will join the adult congregation for the clos- ing hymn of Shabbat service. Ju- nior Congregation will hold another service on Oct. 29. Preschool Services Set Adat Shalom Synagogue will hold the first of four innovative Shab- bat experiences for preschoolers and their parents at 10:45 a.m. Oct. 8. The program will make use of creative songs written especially for preschoolers. Soft Torahs and special story will make each "Torah for Tots" program unique. Cantor Howard Glantz and his hand-held puppets, "comer the Gefilte Fish" and "Louie the Lox," will be featured in this mini- Shabbat morning service. A kid- dush for children will follow. Additional programs will be held Nov. 19, April 8 and May 6. Shabbat youth services are held weekly at Adat Shalom for all youngsters ages 2 through 8.
