March Of Living
Program At JCC
On Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. at the
Maple/Drake Jewish Communi-
ty Center CHAIM-Children of
Holocaust-Survivors Association
In Michigan and BBYO -B'nai
B'rith Youth Organization will
host a program on the March of
the Living.
In April 1994, thousands of
Jewish young people from all over
the world came to poland for a
March of Life through the death
camp of Auschwitz. After a week
in Poland, they flew to Israel to
celebrate the continuation of the
Jewish people.
This fall, the Midrasha Center for
Adult Jewish Learning will offer
two levels of adults on the subject
of Jewish mysticism, both taught
by Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg of
the Bais Chabad Torah Center of
West Bloomfield. The classes will
meet at the Midrasha, located in
the AJE building at 21550 West
12 Mile Road in Southfield.
There is a tuition fee, and all
classes are contingent on mini-
mum enrollment. Because of the
esoteric nature of the subject,
there are prerequisites for regis-
tration. Prospective new students
are asked to contact Sandy Loef-
fler at Midrasha, (810) 354-1050,
for information.
An eight-week Jewish Mysti-
cism class for beginners will meet
on Thursday nights from 7:30 to
8:30 p.m. starting Oct. 13. A 12-
week intermediate class for those
who have studied with Rabbi Sil-
berberg in previous years or who
have equivalent background in
the subject, will meet on Thurs-
day mornings from 10:30 to 11:30
a.m. again starting Oct. 13.
For information or to register,
call Sandy Loeffler, 354-1050.
