MOT's New Season
Opens At Fisher

Michigan Opera Theatre will
open its fall season with Giaco-
mo Pucinni's Madame Butterfly,
Oct. 21-30 at the Fisher Theater.
The Daughter of the Regiment by
Gaetano Donizetti will be the sec-
ond production, also at the Fisher
Theater. From Nov. 11-20, laugh-
ter will abound in this story of a
child found in a battlefield by a
regiment of soldiers who grows
into a tomboyish and determined
woman.
Don Giovanni will open MOTs
spring season at the Masonic

Temple, April 22-30. The season
will progress with ballet as Peter
Ilich Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake
is set to motion with choreogra-
phy by Detroit's own Iacob Las-
cu featuring Margaret Illamn
from the National Ballet of Cana-
da as Odette/Odile. The Ballet
will be at the Masonic Temple,
May 5-7.
The spring season will come to
a conclusion with Giacomo Pucin-
ni's Tosca, May 13-21.
