Temple Kol Ami
Honors Students

On Sept. 26 at 7 p.m., as part of
Temple Kol Ami's Celebration of
Simchat Torah, the congregation
will honor all 1st graders and 2nd
or 3rd graders who are just be-
ginning their formal Jewish ed-
ucations. The students will
participate in this ceremony of
Consecration through prayer and
song. They will march into the
sanctuary carrying miniature
Torah scrolls with covers their
families have created.
Honored at this time will be:

Temple Israel
Judaism Class

Temple Israel will begin a 10-
week Introduction to Judaism
class beginning Oct. 11 at 7:30
p.m. at the temple. The class is
open to anyone interested in
learning more about Judaism or
converting to Judaism.
The class will cover subjects
such as Jewish traditions, his-
tory, life cycle and holiday cele-
brations, and Israel, and will be
taught by Rabbis M. Robert
Syme, Harold S. Loss, Paul M.
Yedwab, Joshua L. Bennett, Can-
tor Harold Orbach, and Dr. Nan-
cy Gad-Harf
There is a charge. For infor-
mation call the temple office, 661-
5700.

Lunch, Learn
At Beth Achim

Rabbi Herbert Yoskowitz of Con-
gregation Beth Achim will con-
duct a weekly lunch and learn
program on Tuesdays from 12:15
1:20 p.m. at the synagogue, be-
ginning Oct. 11.
Each Tuesday, Rabbi
Yoskowitz will use medieval rab-
binic and modern sources to fo-
cus on day-to-day life as well as
on the Jewish calendar and the
Jewish life cycle.
There is a charge for the lunch.
