Shabbat Huledet

This year the Jewish Family Living Institute
will coordinate a new program which recog-
nizes the birthdays of children in Kindergarten
through Fourth Grade. On one Shabbat morn-
ing during the month of their birthday, the
youngsters will be called to the bimah in the
Main Sanctuary by the Clergy on behalf of the
Congregation.
This recognition will take place at approxi-
mately 11:30 a.m. Children attending Junior
Congregation Services will be brought into the
Main Sanctuary at that time.
Shabbat Huledet mornings are
designated on our calendar.

Kol HaN'arim v'HaN'arot

Blessing Our Babies
Wednesday morning, September 28

On Simchat Torah morning, as we make a new
beginning when we start the Torah once more,
we mark our added blessings as all infants born to
Synagogue members during this past year will be
brought to the Torah by their parents for a special
blessing by our Rabbis.

Learners' Service

Do you wish you had a format for asking ques-
tions and learning more about Jewish prayer?
Then our new Learners' Service is for you!

We'll meet October 8, November 5,
December 10, January 14, February 4 and
March 4 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Joseph
D. Shiffman Chapel to focus on the prayer-
book. Rabbi Daniel Nevins will introduce a new
section each time. There will be lots of time for
questions. We'll rejoin the services in the Main
Sanctuary in time for the end of the Torah
reading.
