Lucille Arking has been named
vice-president of clinical services
at Great Lakes Rehabilitation
Hospital. Ms. Arking comes to
the position with 35 years of
nursing experience, including
academic, clinical and adminis-
trative assignments at institu-
tions on both coasts as well as in
the Midwest. Most recently, she
was the senior clinical epidemi-
ologist at Henry Ford Health
Care Systems where she de-
signed programs to monitor
health care quality. She has com-
pleted course work for her Ph.D.

has practiced medicine since
1956. He is senior attending
physician at Sinai Hospital and

Dr. Jack Juni
Dr. Jack Juni, director of the
Positron Diagnostic Center at
William Beaumont Hospital in
Royal Oak, has been named
president-elect of the Brain
Imaging Council of the nation-
al Society of Nuclear Medicine.
Dr. Juni, a member of the soci-
ety since 1981, was elected dur-
ing the society's annual meeting
in June in Orlando, Fla. As pres-
ident-elect, Dr. Juni is expected
to assume the post of council
president in June 1995. He will
oversee post-graduate educa-
tional activities and establish re-
search priorities. Dr. Juni also is
a member of the American Col-
lege of Nuclear Physicians and
an adjunct assistant professor of
medical physics at Oakland Uni-
versity.

Dr. Manuel Sklar and Carol
Roberts, the founding physician
and president of Michigan's
Crohn's and Colitis Foundation
of America, will be honored at the
Ritz Carlton in Dearborn Sept.
Dr. Manuel Sklar
published many articles on the
subjects of inflammatory bowel
disease and geriatric gastroen-
terology.
Ms. Roberts and Arlene Salter,
along with Dr. Sklar, founded the
Michigan chapter of the Crohn's
and Colitis Foundation of Amer-
ica in the 1970s. Ms. Roberts,
also a native Detroiter, earned
certification as an X-Ray techni-
cian and later worked in that
field. She also raised a family
while keeping active in commu-
