THELMA MILGROM, of
Franklin, died Sept. 1. Mrs. Mil-
grom was the Valedictorian of
Highland Park High School. She
received her master's degree in
sociology from the Universtiy of
Wisconsin in 1951 with an un-
dergraduate degree from Wayne
State University. She was also a
member of Congregation Zedek,
Hadassah, American Technion
Society, and a former member of
the "Reach to Recovery" program
of the American Cancer Society.
She is survived by her hus- N
band, Louis; son, Mark of Farm-
ington Hills; daughter, Lynn of
Richmond, Va.; daughter and
son-in-law, Gail and Mitchell
Perlin of Farmington Hills; broth-
er and sister-in-law, Herbert and
Joyce Furman of Farmington
Hills. Services were held at the
Ira Kaufman Chapel followed by
burial at Clover Hill Park Ceme- L\
tery. Memorial contributions may
be made to the Salvation Army,
c/o Memorials, 16130 Northland
Drive, Southfield, MI 48075.

ROSE GREENBERG, 81, of
Detroit, died Aug. 31. She is sur-
vived by brother and sister-in-
law, Eli and Shirley Lipsitz of
Delray Beach, Fla.; nieces and
nephews. Services were held at (7 \
Hebrew Memorial Park through
Hebrew Memorial Chapel.

JULIA NATHAN, of Chicago,
died Aug. 30. Mrs. Nathan was a
member of Pioneer Women and
Hadassah. She was the wife of
the late Harry Nathan and is sur-
vived by her sons and daughters-
in-law, Roger and Simone of
Chicago, Richard and Sheri of `\
California. Services were held at
the Ira Kaufman Chapel followed
by burial at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery.

VERNON S. PALMER, 78, of
Oak Park, died Aug. 30. He is
survived by his wife, Mildred;
daughter and son-in-law, Karen
Elaine and Donald Knaub of (/
Wichita, Ks.; son and daughter-
in-law, Arthur David and Mari-
lyn Palmer of Berkley, Mich.; four
grandchildren, Zachary and
Andrea Rachel Knaub, Kevin and
Lisa Palmer, nieces and nephews.
Arrangements by Dorfman Fu-
neral Direction.

REBA RASHTI, 94, formerly of
Detroit of Hallandale, Fla., died <
Aug. 27. She is survived by her
daughters and sons-in-law, Phyl-
lis and Bill Marcus of Boca Raton,
Fla., Joyce and Allen Sosin of
Bloomfield Hills; sister, Janet
Jacob of Sacramento, Calif.; eight
grandchildren; 14 great-grand-
children.

NAOMI SAFERSTEIN, 28, of
New York, died Aug. 28. Ms.
Saferstein was a writer and
taught writing. She also won the
Hopwood Literary Award two
times at the University of Michi-
