Berle Zaltzman

Sponsored by the local branch
of F.R.E.E. (Friends of Refugees
of Eastern Europe), the event will
be held 1:30 p.m. Aug. 28 at the
Jimmy Prentis Morris Jewish
Community Center. The Char-
lotte Rothstein Park, behind the
Center, will be the site of eight si-
multaneous marriage ceremonies
performed by rabbis in the com-
munity.
A special feature at this year's
celebration will be a concert by
the Chazan Berele Zaltzman.
Chazan Zaltzman will perform
Jewish songs in English, Yiddish,
Russian and Italian, as well as
cantorial pieces. Mrs. Adel Koza-
dayev will accompany on the pi-
ano. The concert, which will
immediately follow the wedding
reception, will be held at the Sal-
ly Allen Alexander Beth Jacob
School for Girls on Ten Mile
Road.
Cantor Zaltzman became
renowned on Soviet radio and in
the theater as a popular and clas-
sical singer. For 14 years he
prayed in underground syna-
gogues.
The public is invited, free of
charge, to participate in the cel-
ebration, reception and concert.
Sponsors and patrons will have
the privilege of escorting the
brides and grooms to the chuppa
and reciting the nuptial blessings
there.

Fiber-Fashion-Form '94, a na-
tional, juried exhibition of wear-
able art, will appear through

In addition to the national juried
show, is the graduate show of cu-

many interpretations on the
same purchased duster coat by
members of the Michigan Surface

sponsored by the MSDA, the
WSU Department of Art and Art
History and the Michigan Coun-
cil for the Arts.
