Taking a page from Mother
Waddles' ministry and soup
kitchen in Detroit, Ms. Lutz and
JARC (Jewish Association for
Residential Care for persons with
developmental disabilities) has
been in the car donation business
for a little over a year. And busi-

ness has been good — $43,000 to
the good.
Unlike Mother Waddles, who
now has a used car lot, JARC
serves as a middle man. It works
through several wholesalers to
dispose of donated cars.
Since April 1993 when it be-
gan accepting donations of vehi-
cles, JARC has received 135 cars,
two motorcycles, one boat, one
camper, one lawn tractor, two
