Sponsors Show

The Plymouth Community Arts
Council will sponsor its 23rd an-
nual. Artists and Craftsmen Show
Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
and Sept. 11 from noon to 5 p.m.
at Central Middle School at
Church Street and Main Street
in downtown Plymouth. This
show is in conjunction with the
Plymouth Fall Festival.
A donation is requested.
This event is the primary fund-
raiser of the Plymouth Commu-
nity Arts Council, whose purpose
is to develop and promote the ap-
preciation and accessibility of the
arts for the benefit of all citizens
of the Plymouth-Canton com-
munity.

The city of Southfield, Cultural
Arts Division will present Ernie
Rodgers and the RAPA House
Jazz Band as part of the Gaze-
bo Concert Series Aug. 24. The
Gazebo is located at the Burgh
Site, at Berg Road and Civic Cen-
ter Drive. The concert will begin
at 7 p.m.
Ernie Rodgers, saxophonist, is
the leader of the RAPA House
Jazz Band. Ernie is an educator
and teaches music at the Detroit
Northwestern High School and
is also an instructor at Wayne
State University.

The Detroit Repertory Theatre
will stage The Society of Men, a
two-person play featuring Detroit
actor, Tim Rhoze, with live mu-
sic performed by Detroit blues-
man, Richard Smith, directed by
Chicago and New York based ac-
tor Jacqueline Williams. Perfor-
mances will be Friday and
Saturday evenings 8:30 p.m. Aug.
19, 20; Aug. 21, 2 p.m. matinee.
Performances will continue Aug.
26, 27 at 8:30 p.m. and closing
with an Aug. 28 2 p.m. perfor-
mance.
