Ask Lisa Ranney, manager of the North Farmington/West Bloom- field (NFWB) squad. "We stressed that we were a team. We wanted the kids to con- stantly encourage each other," Ranney said. "And we put in a lot of practice time. We practiced two hours a day, three days a week for three weeks leading up to our first tournament." The strategy paid off.
