Larry Tepman has been named
youth director at Congregation
Beth Achim. Mr. Tepman has
served as religious vice president
and president of the Lahav Youth
Group. In addition he served as
religion education chairperson on
the CRUSY general board and
religion education vice president
on the executive board. He served
as adviser for the Kadima Youth
Group at Congregation Beth
Achim and is pursuing a gradu-
ate degree in education at MSU.
Debbie Weintraub, a sec-
ondary education major at MSU,
has been named adviser for B'nai
Mazel (grades 3-5) and Kadima
(grades 6-8).
The adviser for Nitzanim (ages
2-7) is Sheryl Katzen. Sheryl has
an associates degree majoring in
early childhood.
Nathaniel Berman, an alum-
ni of the Beth Achim Youth De-
partment and an education major
at Wayne State University, will
conduct Junior Congregation Ser-
vices for grades 3-8.

Temple Holds
Open House

On Aug. 14, from 10 a.m. to 1
p.m., the Birmingham Temple
will hold its annual public open
house. Anyone interested in vis-
iting and learning about the phi-
losophy of Humanistic Judaism
is invited to meet with Rabbi
Sherwin Wine and Stacie Fine,
rabbinical student and school
principal.
