Latin American
Folk Art Exhibit

"Visiones del Pueblo: The Folk
Art of Latin America" will be ex-
hibited at the Toledo Museum of
Art 2445 Monroe St., Toledo,
from Oct. 16-Jan. 15.
A selection of over 275 objects
from 17 countries made for cere-
monial, utilitarian, recreational
and decorative purposes provides
a window through which to view
and better understand Latin
American culture and society.
Tracing the cultural heritage of
Latin American artistic expres-
sion from the 16th century to the
present day, the exhibition
demonstrates the continuing vi-
tality of this folk art tradition.
The exhibition is organized by
the Museum of American Folk
Art, New York; the exhibition and
its national tour are made possi-
ble by Ford Motor Company.
The museum and exhibition
will be open Tuesday-Saturday,
10 a.m,.-4 p.m.; Sunday, 1-5 p.m.;
closed Mondays. There is an ex-
hibition admission charge every
day except Friday from 5-9 p.m.,
when admission to all visitors is
free.

and SelecTix outlets or by calling

JFS Hosts
Workshop

Jewish Family Service will join
with local sisterhoods to offer a
workshop for community volun-
teer nursing home visitors. The
workshop will be held Aug. 23
from 9:30 a.m.-11 p.m. in the JFS
Board Room, 24123 Greenfield.
The workshop will feature a
presentation from Carol Rosen-
berg, administrator, Fleischman
Residence. Ms. Rosenberg will
address the role of the volunteer
nursing home visitor.
