New Officers
For Synagogue

The following officers of the
Downtown Synagogue were re-
cently installed: President —
Charles Fink; vice presidents —
Abraham Shamie, Alfred Berko-
witz; secretary — Sheilah E.
Goldberg; treasurer — Brian
Schiff.
The formal presentation of four
bronze memorial plaques was
also made. The plaques are in
memory of former presidents
George Bass and Joseph Weiss
and in memory of benefactors
John A. Allen and Bernice Allen.

BAHM Sets
Open House

Congregation Beth Abraham Hil-
lel Moses will host a morning of
prayer Aug. 13 at 8:45 a.m. There
is supervised child care for chil-
dren ages 2-5; a kiddush will fol-
low services.
On Aug. 14, from 11 a.m.-12
p.m., an open house will be held.
Children can play with Butterfly
the Clown and enjoy magic, face
painting and fun; KidCareTM ID's
can be made. Participants can
visit with leaders of the shul's or-
ganizations and speak with the
directors of the religious and
nursery schools, as well as the
youth activities director. An Au-
gust special is offered for new
members.
