MEMORY WALK
The Detroit Chapter of the
Alzheimer's Association will have
a Memory Walk on Aug. 27 at
the Detroit Zoo. Proceeds from
the event will go to support pro-
grams like Safe Return, that re-
turns people with Alzheimer's
disease to their family. For in-

Southfield's Inglenook Park will be
the setting at 3 p.m. Aug. 14 when
the Neighborhood Project presents
Neil Alexander the Klezmer Fu-
sion Band in a free concert. The
park is located on the south side of
12 Mile Road, between Evergreen
and Lahser roads.
Backed by a professional jazz
rhythm section, the band com-
bines the Old World melodies of
traditional ethnic and folk music
with New World sounds of jazz.
Guests should bring blankets
or chairs. In case of rain, the con-
cert will be canceled.
The concert is co-sponsored by
the city of Southfield and The
Jewish News.
Chamber Group
Plans Concerts
One hundred young musicians,
representing a cross section of so-
cial, economic and cultural back-
grounds, will present two free
concerts Aug. 5 — one of cham-
ber works at 4 p.m., and one of
orchestral and concert band
repertoire at 7 p.m. Both of the
concerts will take place in Build-
ing F of Oakland Community
College, Auburn Hills Campus,
(2900 Featherstone Rd.), and will
be the culmination of the Lyric
Chamber Insemble's "Summer
Music Experience — a two-week
day camp where students will
sharpen their skills in music the-
ory, jazz improvisation, and en-
semble playing.
