YAD EZRA

Southfield's Inglenook Park will be
the setting at 3 p.m. Aug. 14 when
the Neighborhood Project presents
Neil Alexander the Klezmer Fu-
sion Band in a free concert. The
park is located on the south side of
12 Mile Road, between Evergreen
and Lahser roads.
Backed by a professional jazz
rhythm section, the band com-
bines the Old World melodies of
traditional ethnic and folk music
with New World sounds of jazz.
Guests should bring blankets
or chairs. In case of rain, the con-
cert will be canceled.
The concert is co-sponsored by
the city of Southfield and The
Jewish News.

repertoire at 7 p.m. Both of the
concerts will take place in Build-
ing F of Oakland Community
College, Auburn Hills Campus,
(2900 Featherstone Rd.), and will
be the culmination of the Lyric
Chamber Insemble's "Summer
Music Experience — a two-week
day camp where students will
sharpen their skills in music the-
ory, jazz improvisation, and en-
semble playing.
For information about the con-
certs, which are free and open to
the public, call the Lyric Cham-
