We used to get each other's mail and phone calls all the time." With a last name as com- mon as Schwartz, it is not hard to find someone else with an identical name. Sharon Schwartz is an Eng- lish teacher at Hillel Day School and the parent of a for- mer Hillel student. Another Sharon Schwartz also had a son at Hillel. The two met when their sons were in first grade. The boys are now going into 11th grade. "Our paths have crossed a number of times," Mrs. Schwartz said. "We have close contact because our children go to Hillel." Mrs. Schwartz, the teacher, was once asked by a student if she had called his house. "He was worried I wanted to talk to his father about his grades," she said. "He said the caller who identified herself as Sharon Schwartz did not sound like me and he thought it could have been a prank call. It was the other Sharon." One year, the school direc- tory incorrectly listed their phone numbers. "People would call me to ask if I could substitute teach," Mrs. Schwartz, not the teacher, said. "I told them thanks, but I didn't think they would want me to sub." Both Sharon Schwartzes agree that while it is ironic they have the same name, the other coincidences they share can be eerie. Around the time of their. sons' b'nai mitzvah, the women, without knowing it, purchased their dresses at the; same store. Mrs. Schwartz, . the teacher, got the wrong. dress alteration bill. Their sons now attend dif- ferent high schools, but they are in the same AZA chapter. At one time the women were going to the same doctor. Many of these name duos said they were both patients of the same physician at one time or another. The two Murray Feldmans have gone to the same dentist and both see the same aller- gist. One doctor's file has a blue sticker and one has a red sticker. "We've even had the same allergy symptoms on the same day," said TV-2's Murray Feld- man. "Our wives will be talk- ing on the phone at night and discover we both came home from work with the same symptoms." Their wives were even in the same adult bat mitzvah class at Temple Israel. Ron Klein's coincidence sto- ry is about a vacation in Flori- da. His daughter called the hotel to talk to her parents. She was connected to, that's right, the other Ron Klein's room. Neither couple knew the other was in Florida and at the same hotel. "We always laugh at the co- incidences," Mrs. Schwartz (not the teacher) said. "It's a lot of fun to get together and compare stories." LI
