Running unopposed in the 19th District are Democrat Kurt Lopez and Republican Donn Wolf. Democrat Milton Dzodin is challenging Lawrence Pernick in the 20th District. Republican James Hardin will face the win- ner of that race in November. Candidates in the 21st District are Democrats Debbie Dohany, Voters will be asked to choose candidates either in the Republican Party or the Democratic Party. Gregory Miles and Nancy Quar- les. Republican Charles Klein- brook is also nmning. Following the unexpected death of County Commissioner Dennis Aaron, several Democ- rats have announced they will seek the post as a write-in can- didate. Mr. Aaron's son, Jonathan Aaron, Huntington Woods City Commisioner Gilda Jacobs and Jim Doyan have an- nounced their candidacies. Re- publican Kurt Kramer also is running in the 23rd District. In the race for 46th District Court, Stephen Korn and Abra- ham Selesny are challenging in- cumbent Susan Moiseev. The top two vote-getters will advance to the general election. West Bloomfield Republican Joe Knollenberg is running for re-election to Con- gress. He will be challenged by Democrat Mike Breshgold. Democrat Vicki Barnett is hoping to oust incumbent David Honigman. Both are uncontested in the primary. State Rep. Barbara Dobb is running against David Meldman and Olga Meyer. Twenty-one- year-old Daniel Chen-in, a De- mocrat, will run against the winner of the Republican pri- mary. West Bloomfield is included in the 11th, 12th and 13th County Commission districts. Democrat Steve Steinhardt and Republicans Richard Andich and Nancy Dingeldey are run- ning in the 11th. In the 12th, Shelley Goodman Taub is being challenged by Don- ald Eby and Thomas Fortino. There are no Democrats on the ballot. Suzanne Osmer, a Democrat, and Thomas Law, a Republican, are uncontested in the 13th. 0 Six Battle For New 14th District Seat STEVE STEIN STAFF WRITER epublican State Senate candidate Michael Warren of Southfield will have to wait for the results of the Aug. 2 primary to find out who his Democratic opponent will be in the Nov. 1 general election. Mr. Warren is the lone mem- ber of the GOP vying for the new 14th District seat. Five Democ- rats will face off in the primary, with the winner earning his par- ty's nomination. The revamped district in- cludes the cities of Berkley, Lath- nip Village, Oak Park, Pontiac and Southfield along with Bloom- field Township, Royal Oak Town- ship and Southfield Township. There is no incumbent, but a familiar name casts a shadow on the race. Had longtime State Sen. Jack Faxon decided to run again, this would have been his district. Of the five primary candidates who responded to a Jewish News questionnaire, two said they are running because Mr. Faxon left the Senate.
