s if fighting fires and catching
crooks wasn't enough.
In the past six months, West
Bloomfield Township firemen
and policemen have answered
some 350 calls from residents
at Hechtman I & II and
Fleischman residences.
So seniors living at the facilities want-
ed to say thanks. They did so in the most
delicious of ways — with food.
Last week, representatives of the facil-
ities delivered cookies, cakes and fruit trays
to the West Bloomfield Township fire and
police departments. All 210 residents of
the three senior homes contributed in some
way to the project.
"We are very, very lucky to have them,"
Hechtman Administrator Andrea Rosner
said of the firemen and policemen. "They
are kind and patient and put their hearts
into their job."
In addition to answering emergency
calls, the fire department has made fre-
quent visits to the homes to help teach
safety procedure and review equipment. El
