The Medical Section of the Jew-
ish Federation's Young Adult Di-
vision will meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 4
at Skyline Club in the Southfield
Radisson hotel.
Guest speaker will be Dr. Sabi
H. Shabtai, specialist on Mideast
affairs and internationally rec-
ognized authority on terrorism.
Dr. Shabtai will speak on "Ter-
rorism in the '90s: The Good
News and the Bad."
A native of Israel, Dr. Shabtai
served in the Israel Defense
Forces and the Israel Foreign
Service. He taught political sci-
ence at several universities, was
a senior fellow at the Adlai
Stevenson Institute of Interna-
tional Affairs at the University of
Chicago, directed counter-ter-
rorist studies for the California-
based Office of Special Services
and contributed to the security
preparations for the 1984
Olympics held in Los Angeles.

Jewish Experiences for Families,
a division of the Agency for Jew-
ish Education, will honor volun-
teers actively involved with the
new American community at a
> Volunteer Appreciation Evening
Aug. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Agency
for Jewish Education auditorium
in Southfield.
Over the last five years, near-
ly 50 new Americans, along with
100 other volunteers, have com-
mitted their time as translators,
committee members, program
staff, and phonecallers.

Ladies Auxiliary of the Jewish
War Veterans will conduct a
meeting July 26 at 7:30 p.m. at
