Introducing the
Platinum Savings Account

• A superb simple interest rate of 4.05%
• An Annual Percentage Yield of 4.11%

"You get a bad one every once
in a while, either way you go, new
or recharged," she said.
Again, the cost savings are sig-
nificant and "if it helps the envi-
ronment, we're all for it," Ms.
Sadlowski said.
At one point, Mr. Pearlman
and Mr. Dube were so busy fill-
ing orders that they weren't able
to fetus on growing the business.
That's when they decided to start
adding staff.
The company now has two
technicians who do the actual
recharging. They take the car-
tridges apart and vacuum out all
remaining toner powder. Worn
out parts are replaced, the car-
tridge is repacked with toner
powder and the outside case is
cleaned up.

"It looks like new, it works just
like new and it is just like new,"
Mr. Dube said.
Mr. Pearlman says the com-
pany has always turned a profit,
but it wasn't until the last quar-
ter of 1993 that he felt the busi-
ness would really take off.
"We're always looking toward
the future and other products we
can sell," he said. The company's
goal is to double its sales this year
over last.
Both Mr. Pearlman and Mr.
Dube say they get much satis-
faction from the challenges of en-
trepreneurship.
"Being our own bosses, seeing
the business grow and providing
jobs in this economy, it's all on our
backs," Mr. Pearlman said. "But
it hasn't been a problem yet." ❑
