Stephen P. Korn, Susan
Moiseev and Abraham Se-
lesny are running for 46th
District Court judge. But it's not
because these candidates aren't
busy campaigning.
"It is hard for people to get ex-
cited about a district court race,"
incumbent Judge Moiseev said.
With the election just over two

ily law and was appointed to the
bench in 1986 to fill a vacancy.
She was elected to the position in
1988. She said that in addition to
sentencing guidelines she con-
siders the specific circumstances
of each case.

president of the Hebrew Benev-
olent Society and on the execu-
tive board of Akiva Hebrew Day

"I think being a judge is the
pinnacle for any lawyer and I can
do a good job moving people to-
gether," he said.
Mr. Selesny, who has been
practicing law for more than 30
years and specializes in family
law, would like to see more cas-
es go through the mediation
process. This would shorten the
court's docket and give the plain-
tiff and defendant an opportuni-
ty to settle without going through
the courts.
