It will feature Alan Hitsky, as-
sociate editor of The Jewish
News, speaking on "The Media
and Politics." Alan Hitsky has
been associate editor of The Jew-
ish News since 1987. He started
at the paper in 1974 as news
editor. Mr. Hitsky has written ex-
tensively at The Jewish News
and is jointly responsible for story
planning, copy editing, proof-
reading, and right field on the pa-
per's co-ed softball team.

Is Installed

The officers and board of direc-
tors of the Jewish Community
Center recently elected and in-
stalled new board members and
officers.
The new officers are as follows:
Douglas Bloom, president; Irwin
L. Elson, chairman of executive
committee; Susan Alterman,
Doris Blechman, Harry Eisen-
berg, Jerald Kaufman, vice
presidents; Lawrence Wolfe, sec-
retary; Beverly Liss, treasurer;
Steven Fisher, Alan Horowitz,
Jeffrey L. Kaplan, members at
large.
The new members of the board
of directors are: Miriam Berg-
man, Scott Behrmann, Izya
Berman, Pat Bernstein, Bruce
Frankel, Fred Keywell, Bella

Playground
Gets Start

The Jewish Community Center
playground project will begin on
the Fourth of July weekend at
the Jimmy Prentis Morris build-
ing. The playground, funded by
the Harry and Jeanette Wein-
berg Foundation and built by
community volunteers, will have
a biblical theme.

Zalegman Phillips and the
brothers Sampson Levy, Jr.
and Moses Levy, all of
Philadelphia. They were
admitted to the bar in 1800.
