Local Premiere
The Rhumba Lesson, a short film
by local filmmaker Anita B.
Weiner, will premiere at the Ann
Arbor Summer Festival's 'Top of
the Park" film series July 6 at 10
p.m.
The AMC Maple 3 Theatre will
be the next stop for The Rhumba
Lesson, where it is slated for an
August run.
Ms. Weiner, a Huntington
Woods native and a 1991 Uni-
versity of Michigan graduate, has
recently returned to the Detroit
area from San Francisco where
she trained in film production.
Doll Exhibit
At Institute
An exhibition of hand made
Japanese Dolls will be displayed
at the International Institute in
Detroit's Cultural Center July 9-
14 from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
Sponsored by the Institute, the
Japan Foundation and the De-
troit Consulate General of Japan,
the exhibit is an introduction to
the present day artistic world of
dolls, with their unsurpassed tra-
dition and deep involvement in
modern Japanese culture.
The International Institute is
